• A strong data center is the foundation of any mission-critical IT deployment. That is why when it comes to the datacenter to power QuantumColo and our customer infrastructures, we went out to look for a datacenter that can aggressively deliver on all mission-critical business requirements. That is why we chose 1 Summer Street, owned by the Markley Group in Boston, Massachusetts as the platform to deliver top-notch infrastructure colocation services to our clients.

  • A great facility for unparalled reliability.

  • TowardEX chose the 1 Summer Street facility to provide our QuantumColo data center service in downtown Boston. It is the largest and highest density data center in New England with SAS 70 Type II certification. The facility is home to the world's 32nd fastest super computer and over 40 domestic and international internet service providers and telecom carriers.

  • Highest Power Density in New England

  • The 1 Summer Street is a SAS 70 Type II certified mission-critical data center with extensive electrical loading capacities to serve colocation requirements of any size. The building electrical system is master planned for 40 Mega Watts (MW) rating, has 8 separate high-voltage feeds from 2 different sub-stations, consists of 6 double-ended switchboards and 10 distribution bus risers delivering 4,000 Amp capacity to each datacenter suite.

1 Summer Street facility maintains an impressive 100% uptime record in its eleven-year operating history. Every colocation suite is powered by multiple UPS systems employing static batteries, static flywheel and rotary flywheel configurations, with ability to deliver 11.4 MW of load. There are 24 generators and 88,000 gallons of diesel fuel capacity on site.

While most other datacenter facilities suffer from power shortages and electrical capacity problems, you'll find none of that in 1 Summer Street. If you need power, we've got'em.

Delivering quality all the way down to the end-user.

While 1 Summer Street's characteristics make it a legendary datacenter for mission-critical applications, none of this actually matters if the actual last-end leg of the service you are receiving is not redundant or designed correctly. This is where TowardEX QuantumColo comes in to fill in the gaps.

TowardEX's QuantumColo service with combination of our strong data center foundation uses a rugged platform design that is compliant with TIA/EIA-942 Data Center Standards. The QuantumColo platform is able to deliver Tier III reliability of 99.982% uptime on basic service, Tier IV fault-tolerant availability of 99.995% uptime on customers employing redundant power and network connectivity.

Every QuantumColo customer receives redundant power by default, with each power connection coming from different set of generators, UPS and building entry risers, coming from two separate power grid substations. There is no extra charge or fee for this level of redundancy you can receive on every one of your servers.
